GW Martin retrofits Filtermist oil mist filters as part of wider investment programme

GW Martin Precision Manufacturing was established in 1959 and now serves a diverse client base across the medical, vacuum filtration, and other commercial industries, as well as the defence sector. The company moved to its current premises in 1967 and over the past ten years has significantly reinvested in the business - upgrading its workshop, machinery, lighting, and facilities - including a new roof with solar panels.

CNC machining of exotic materials across a fleet of machine tools including Mazak and Miyano machines generates airborne oil mist which needed to be effectively controlled to maintain the improved working environment the company had invested in.

"What we didn't want was the traditional 1970s oily workshop," comments GW Martin MD, Stuart Yalden. "It was pretty critical do us that we did something to deal with any mist, any oil that came out of the machines."

"We're very happy with the units that we've got from Filtermist," continued Stuart. "We asked Filtermist to come in and fit a Filtermist oil mist filter to a new Mazak machine we were having delivered, and they came in within a couple of weeks of the machine being installed, and they very quickly and thoroughly put on the new unit that we've got on the machine."
