Diamond Precision Engineering
Diamond Precision Engineering is a precision manufacturer based in Birkenhead. The company expanded its capabilities with the purchase of two new Nakamura-Tome CNC turning machines and has an active focus on coolant management and employee health, including monthly laboratory testing and weekly in-house checks of cutting fluid.
The high-speed rotating chucks on the Nakamura WT-150II and AS-200 machines generated significant oil mist so the company needed to ensure this was effectively managed as part of its focus on the health of its coolant and its people.
Installing Filtermist FX oil mist filters successfully eliminated the coolant fog from the working environment, removing the associated health and safety risk, and creating a cleaner, more pleasant workshop. Engineer Harry Pitt noted that the units are great for employee health, adding that they make for "a nicer environment to work in."
Diamond Precision Engineering specified Filtermist oil mist filters as standard on both new Nakamura-Tome machines at the point of purchase.
