Milled chocolate dust in the atmosphere requiring ATEX rated dust extraction. Some food ingredients can be highly combustible in powder form - particularly when the particles are very fine. It is vital that suitable equipment is used in potentially explosive atmospheres to comply with DSEAR Regulations.
We supplied three ATEX rated VVF1s (Vessel Venting 'process' filters) in BS304 stainless steel, for a milled chocolate crumb feed line. These filters replaced three old Dustcheck VVF1s (mild steel) originally supplied back in 1997.
The new filters were bespoke to suit the site conditions - the client had their own cleaning controllers so we supplied each VVF with a 2mt flying lead so they could wire back in themselves for the pulse cleaning sequencer.
